Week Two
Of all the tools available to us, the brain is the most important. The best news is, it's free and everyone has one! This week we will explore:

Task One (Due April 11)
1) Watch the following video on the brain with your child.

The first video is slightly more advanced. The second video is targetted to a younger audience (pre-k to Grade One)
Both cover similar material. The narrator of the second video has a slight Indian accent which some viewers may find challenging to understand.
2) Build a model of the brain with your child. I recommend plasticine or play dough. Your model can be 2 dimensional or 3 dimensional. Be sure that:

- you have included the cerebrum, cerebellum and brain stem
- your model is colourful
- your model is labelled
- Take a photo of your child with their creation (or take a video of your child talking about their model and upload it to YouTube). Don't forget to smile!
3) Submit your photo or video
- Go to Edmodo.com and login
- You should see a posting for the first assignment.
- Click on "Turn In"
- Attach the picture (or submit the URL of your YouTube video)
- Click on "Turn in Assignment"
- Pat yourself on the back for a job well done!
Task 2: Activity Tracker (Due April 15)
Over the course of the week record all the educational activities your child has been engaged in.
On Friday, April 15th submit your Tracker.
1) Locate your child's Tracker in your Google Drive
2) Copy the URL
3) Open a new window and login to Edmodo
2) A post for the assignment should appear.
3) Click on "turn in"
4) copy and paste the URL from the Tracker in the appropriate space.
5) Click Turn in Assignment.
Congratulations! You have successfully submitted your Tracker. Keep recording all the great interactions you are having with your child. The updated Tracker will be submitted every Friday.
